If you’re like me, you’ll love setting and reaching new goals, making plans and sticking to routines.

Today, we’re going to talk about something a little different – Letting go and trusting life (god, your god, life, the universe! You choose what’s right for you!)

Letting go and trusting life means releasing the need to control every outcome and embracing the flow of experiences as they come. (Not always easy, I know!)

It's about understanding that not everything will go as planned, and that's okay.

“You can’t connect the dots looking forward, You can only connect them looking backwards”

- Steve jobs

In other words - Sometimes we may think of something as a ‘failure’ or a setback, and later down the line we will realise it all happened perfectly ! We’ve all had that experience !

By letting go, we make space for growth, learning, and unexpected opportunities.

Trusting life involves having faith that, despite uncertainties and challenges, things will work out in ways that often exceed our expectations.

It’s a practice of patience and openness, allowing us to find peace and contentment in the journey itself, rather than being fixated solely on the destination.

Affirmation of the week.. ?

"I release control and trust that life's journey will unfold exactly as it should."

Trusting the process can manifest in many ways throughout our lives. For instance, consider an entrepreneur opening a new business, facing numerous setbacks like funding challenges and market competition. Despite these hurdles, they remain committed to their vision, refining their business model and learning from failures. Each setback becomes a lesson, not a defeat, bringing them closer to their goals. By embracing the journey with its ups and downs, they stay motivated and focused, confident that their persistent efforts will lead to success. This trust transforms roadblocks into stepping stones toward achieving their dreams.

Present moment awareness keeps us grounded amidst life's changes.

It reminds us to focus on now, not the past or future worries.

This awareness helps us trust life's flow, letting go of control.

We learn to face life's ups and downs with resilience and clarity. By staying mindful, we embrace the journey's beauty, trusting that every step forward has a purpose beyond our understanding.

Here are 3 simple steps to bring you right back into the present moment whenever you feel called to do so;

  1. Scan your body. Take a moment to conduct a quick body scan, starting from the top of your head and slowly moving your attention down to your toes. As you scan each part of your body, consciously release any tension you notice. For example, drop your shoulders, unclench your jaw, and soften your facial muscles. Letting go of physical tension helps to anchor your awareness in the present moment, promoting relaxation and mindfulness.

  1. Pause and breathe. Now after you’ve released the tension from your body; I want you to pause for a moment, take 3 deep breaths in and out; Think of something you're grateful for in your immediate surroundings. It could be the warmth of sunlight streaming through the window, the comforting aroma of a freshly brewed cup of coffee, the soft texture of a cozy blanket or the comfort of simply being inside your own home with shelter, heat and food. Focusing on a simple moment of gratitude helps shift your perspective to the present and grounds you in the richness of the moment.

  1. Make time for mindfullness: Incorporate mindfulness practices into your daily routine to cultivate present moment awareness. This could include activities such as meditation, yoga, or mindful walking. Choose a practice that resonates with you and commit to integrating it into your life regularly. These techniques help to train your mind to stay present and focused, allowing you to navigate life with greater clarity and ease.

Lastly, say this out loud with me now (and anytime you feel overwhelmed), even write it on a post-it and put it somewhere you will see it daily;

‘I am surrendering control, and letting go.

I am trusting and moving, with the flow!’
