Recently I have been making some tough, emotional decisions and so, this is something I want to talk about today.

You know that feeling, when there is something in your life that needs to be dealt with, but because it involves a lot of emotions and decision-making, you’ve been putting it off? Maybe a current problem or ongoing situation, something frustrating, hurtful or sad? You need to take action, but you’re not quite sure how to do it without letting your emotions drive the train.

I HEAR YOU !

The physiological relationship between your head and heart is a fascinating interplay that influences decision-making in profound ways. While traditionally seen as separate entities, science has revealed an intricate connection between the brain and the heart through the autonomic nervous system. This connection allows for bidirectional communication, creating a dynamic feedback loop between these two vital organs.

When faced with decisions, the brain processes information, analyses options, and applies logical reasoning. It assesses risks, weighs pros and cons, and seeks to maximize outcomes. This cognitive aspect of decision-making is often associated with the head.

However, the heart, often considered the seat of emotions, also plays a significant role. Research has shown that the heart has its own network of neurons, capable of processing information and sending signals to the brain. The heart generates emotional responses, such as intuition, gut feelings, and desires, which can also influence decision-making.

To make optimal decisions, it is essential to find a balance between the intellect of the head and the wisdom of the heart.

Learning to synchronise your emotions and your rational decision-making processes is key to achieving true balance bringing your feelings, physiology, strengths and weaknesses into harmony. This way, emotions and decision-making can actually compliment each other.

Through this process of self-discovery and emotional mastery, you will be able to deeply connect with your purpose.

Many people think that to control and process their emotions, they need to turn them off entirely. That’s not true – we as humans are emotional creatures, designed to factor feelings into everything we do. The key to pairing your rational mind with your emotions is through heart breathing.

This heart breathing exercise will draw your awareness to your heart and the power it generates. Practicing it will center you in your emotions without letting them run rampant whilst managing tough decisions.

  1. Begin by focusing on the issue you are seeking to resolve. Bring your attention to it, acknowledging its presence.

  1. Place both hands on your heart and feel the energy flowing through your body. As you breathe in, imagine a bright white light entering your body, filling you with its radiant energy. Feel the beauty and strength emanating from your heart.

  1. Take a moment to reflect on three things or moments you are grateful for. Choose one at a time and fully immerse yourself in each experience. Breathe in the gratitude and allow it to permeate your being. Repeat this process with the other two moments. Remember, you cannot be anxious and grateful at the same time !

  1. Pose the question to yourself, "In this situation, what is the most essential thing for me to do or focus on?" Take a deep breath into your heart, allowing the answer to arise from within. Trust that your heart holds the key to balance your emotions and guide your decision-making.

  1. Remind yourself that all you truly need resides within you at this moment. If you still feel uncertain, take a few deeper breaths and choose one of the possibilities that you have discovered. Understand that sometimes there may not be a single right answer, but taking action is a step forward.

  1. Express gratitude to your heart for its guidance and support. Gently touch your heart and speak with conviction, saying "I love you, thank you". Feel the love and appreciation emanating from your words and let it fill your heart.

This heart breathing exercise is designed to connect you with your inner wisdom and bring clarity to your decision-making process. Practice it regularly, embracing the power of gratitude and the brilliance of your heart's guidance.

“You can't connect the dots looking forward; you can only connect them looking backwards. So you have to trust that the dots will somehow connect in your future. You have to trust in something - your gut, destiny, life, karma, whatever.”

I hope this helps today ?
